Mick Dittman
'The Enforcer'
Leonard Ross "Mick" Dittman was born in Rockhampton Queensland and whilst he already had a rockstar name he was nicknamed "The Enforcer" due to his vigour and strength in a tight finish, he quickly rose to become one of the best jockeys in the country.
During a career spanning more than thirty years in the saddle it is estimated he has won more than 1,700 races (which included 88 Group 1 races) and won three Sydney Jockey Premierships.Β He is also one of only seven jockeys to win the Grand Slam of Australian racing.
To sit back and read the achievements of Dittman you are in awe, in a time where there were a lot of hard jockeys, he was βThe Enforcerβ.
